Melia Azedarach, Bakaayan, Bakain - Plant

Bakayan or Mahanimba is a deciduous tree native to southern Asia and is found throughout India. It can be easily seen in parks and along roadsides. The adult tree has a rounded crown and commonly measures 7 to 12 meters tall, however in exceptional circumstances, M. azedarach can attain a height of 45 meters (150 ft).

Planting and care

The mulch should feel moist but not wet. Apply a high-potassium liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks from early spring until 6 weeks after flowering. Keep moist in winter.
