The Dendrobium is epiphytic and lithophytic orchid in the family Orchidaceae. Plant is unusual in appearance, being sympodialand bulbless but possesses heavy cane like stems which also produce the papery green leaves. Dendrobium Orchids have their profuse, delicate blooms.

Planting and care

Re-pot the plant when grows large and overgrows its container, the potting material deteriorates, the plant has to be split or divided. It is better to re-pot epiphytes every year. The best time for repotting is when fresh roots emerge at the bases of the previous year growth. The dendrobium orchid should have a 50-70% humidity level around them. After your orchid has finished blooming, use sharp scissors to cut off the flowering stem to promote regrowth. Crowding of plants can lead to problems with insect infestations and fungus. Keep the plant in natural indirect bright Light. Poke your finger/plain small stick into the soil to check the moisture. Water when top soil (1-2inches) feels dry to touch. Do not re-pot for min. 2 weeks after receiving it.

• Sunlight: At least 3-6 hours of preferably morning sunlight a day is ideal for plant to grow well and natural indirect bright light for the rest of the day.

Watering
